So I checked the...Oct 11, 2020 · UPDATE----- Well after cranking the Tahoe for many attempts along with having it run a few times for ten seconds or so last night I put the vehicle on a charger and went to bed. Later this afternoon while attempting to get the vehicle in neutral I attempted to start it again. It fired up and seemed to run ok.Engine Mechanical problem. 1999 Chevy Tahoe V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 144K miles. I have 99 Tahoe, one day out of the blue it wouldn't start. I read all the posts so I did what everyone was doing so I checked for spark, got it. Then I checked and replaced the fuel filter, no luck. Then I replaced my battery, no luck.

Bring a grounded wire close to an unplugged plug wire boot while someone cranks. You should have a snappy at least 1/2" spark. If it dont fire then you have igntion. 5.3l is a little different than the 5.7l that is in the year model in this part of the forum.If your fuel is not reaching the cylinders of your Chevy, your truck will likely crank but not start. If you have some starting fluid or carb cleaner and it cranks but no start, try spraying some, in the throttle body, and see what happens.
