Per the suggestion in the link, I tried replacing it with a #74, but that bulb was too big, it wouldn't seat into the socket.

The Pico sockets havent dropped a single bulb. Theybare a better quality and a bit longer to hold the longer LED bulbs better. I think the 68 & 69 are the same as far as dash wiring. I have a dash wiring illustration from my AAW kit.

My parts list for an 84 shows Fuel and temp and Speedometer illumination is the same bulb #53. 3 places.
