The problem with the Farmall 450 was two-fold. First, the basic platform for the tractor was the Farmall M, which was introduced in 1939. The nearly 20-year-old chassis was long in the tooth, to say the least. The machine did feature plenty of upgrades and refinements, ranging from paint and sheet metal to hydraulics and transmission technology.Don't get me wrong-- I'm not trying to discourage you. I hope it's your dream come true, as I am a Farmall nut case. [Others might say I'm a nut case in general.] I love them, and I want them to have good homes. $4500 isn't outrageous, but I would want a very nice 450 for that price. If you have time to shop, you might do a little better.
