If you get it down far enough to get the "800 miles left" message, then it's going to take plenty of DEF to reset the sensor. In the dash menu under I think information, there's a place where it will tell you when it's down to half full.It doesnt have the ability to clear the def light though. There is a pipe that goes down into the DPF tank with 2 metal rods (sensors) on it. One goes down to about the 2 gal mark (Low DPF) and the other is about at the 4 gal area. Expensive part to replace at the dealership. I replaced it myself.
