Winchester M1 Garand Receiver Description: Excellent Winchester M1 Garand receiver. According to Scott Duff's book it was manufactured in January 1944. There are no rebuild or import markings on the receiver. It could have been re-parkerized. I am not an expert on M1 Garand finishes, so I can't be sure if it is the original finish.Always wear hearing and eye protection when firing an M1 Garand, 1903 and/or 1903A3 rifle. Is there anyone out there making new garand receivers so that if you want to build one or shoot pretty often or more ...No manufacture has made a reproduction of the 1903, M1 Carbine or M1 rifle with out using surplus parts or significantly cutting cost with poorer quality reproduction parts. Only replacement barrels have improved. The reproduction M14 variants are successful because the M14 is restricted.If I remember correctly about 20yrs ago Century Int. was selling M1 Garands built on Danish parts kits and commercial cast receivers. At the same time 80% finished cast steel receivers were being sold in Shotgun News. Speculation at the time was these receivers were "rejects" from the run of cast steel receivers for Century.
